  1. “Get URL/Netscape META” BBEdit/EasyView Extension

  3. Version 1.2 of February/March/June 95

  5. This is a second-generation  modification of Akif M. Eyler's "Get 
  6. URL" extension.  I started with the nice modification done by Hans 
  7. R. Schelling to use Netscape, and added automatic loading of 
  8. gopher:// and http:// URL's instead of an intermediary "Click Here" 
  9. screen.  It requires Netscape version 1.1 later for the META codes.  
  10. It doesn't check the version, so if you have Netscape 1.0, it won't 
  11. tell you that it won't work.  For 1.0 users, get a copy of Hans 
  12. Schelling's version of GetURL or the latest Netscape.  Other than 
  13. this, it is functionally identical to the previous versions.  
  14. Complaints/comments about the Netscape autoloading should be 
  15. directed to me, others to the original authors.  I've checked the 
  16. extension, and don't think there's any way it could damage your 
  17. computer.  If anything happens, I am not liable.
